John,
Ken Calvert likes to call himself a “fiscal conservative,” but his voting record shows otherwise. Calvert actually supported a plan that raised taxes on California homeowners.
Back when Trump was in office, Calvert championed the Republicans’ tax plan calling it a “step in the right direction.” That plan eliminated state and local tax deductions that Californians take -- increasing the tax bill for over 40% of his constituents.
We need a leader who will actually help those of us struggling with inflation, and there’s no reason nurses, teachers, firefighters, and cops should be paying higher federal income tax rates than billionaires. That’s not a step in the right direction.
If elected, I’d fight to make our tax system fairer to the average American. I’d also fight for a total ban on stock trading by Members of Congress. Because while Calvert raised our taxes, he managed to increase his net worth by up to $20,000,000 since assuming office. Some of those earnings came through abusing taxpayer dollars through earmarks.
Calvert is spending hundreds of thousands on the airwaves trying to portray me as someone ready to go on a “spending spree.” The reality is it’s Calvert who is actually costing Californians.
With less than two weeks until ballots are counted, will you chip in $5 to help fund our efforts to unseat Ken Calvert – one of the “most corrupt” members of Congress?
