John, I hope you’re having a peaceful and warm holiday season so far.

This is a time for reflection and resolutions – we have spent the past few days reminiscing about the year that was, and looking ahead to 2020.

My life has changed dramatically over the past year – less time at home with family, more time in a car or at the airport or in Washington. I was listed as one of Essence magazine’s “100 Most Woke” alongside Michelle Obama . I went on late-night television shows. I’ve held the Speaker's gavel and presided over the U.S. House of Representatives.

And yet some things did not change. I still did errands on Saturday mornings. I still knocked doors to help get local leaders elected in towns across the district. I still visited classrooms, speaking with students about our government and democracy.

I am deeply aware of the privilege of being your voice in Congress. My only resolution this year is to continue working to the best of my ability to fight for our country and for our democracy.

My campaign is facing a critical fundraising deadline at the end of the year. If you are able, please consider a donation to ensure that we have the resources we need to run a winning campaign in 2020. Even a donation of $2.20 (in honor of 2020!) will go a long way. [[link removed]]

I wish you and your family peace, prosperity, and happiness in this holiday season. THANK YOU for all your support and energy this year. I really appreciate it.

-- Jahana
