Hey, it’s Maura.
We just wrapped up a Get Out the Vote rally in Roxbury, now we’re heading to our next event. I wanted to drop you a line about something I’ve been thinking about.
Today, there are 10 days left until the election. There are 48 minutes in a standard basketball game. I did some math. To put this election into basketball perspective, we’re in the 4th quarter, and we have about 1 minute and 30 seconds left on the clock.
In basketball, that’s crunchtime. Even if you’ve worked hard over the first 46 minutes and you’re feeling good, the minute you slack off, the minute you start taking it for granted — that’s how you can lose in a flash.
So I’m going to keep working hard. And we’re going to keep this momentum going until the final buzzer, because with just over a minute to go, we can’t afford to lose the progress we’ve made in this race. We’re too close.
Last I heard, we were more than 50% of the way to our last End-Of-Month goal of this campaign. You’ve supported me from the beginning, and it means a lot to me as we head into the final week.
I believe in a Massachusetts where everyone gets a fair shake, no matter what your zip code is. That’s what we’re trying to deliver, starting on November 8.
To everyone — thank you so much for your support. We’re almost there. I’m going to keep working until the time runs out, because that’s what Massachusetts deserves, and because the foundation of our Democracy is at stake.
If you can help us get to that final buzzer, I’d really appreciate it.
