John,

In 2020, we saw record turnout from young, immigrant, Black, Indigenous, and other people of color.

That’s why we still have a democracy today, but if you look at the results, it was still very close. And that was before the PA GOP put so much time and money into making sure it doesn’t happen again.

Now, the midterm elections are almost over, and whether we continue to have a democracy after that is once again going to come down to voter turnout. After the midterm primary election in May of 2022, the New Pennsylvania Project saw increased voter turnout in several of our focus regions, including Norristown, Montgomery County and Penn Hills, Dauphin County, with an over 63% Democratic voter turnout increase. That is just the beginning.

With such a tight election, every vote, every minute of getting out the vote, and every single dollar that helps us do it counts. That’s why we need to hit our $8,000 goal by the end of the month. Will you chip in $10 today to help us turn out the vote like we saw in 2020?

The New Pennsylvania Project was founded in May 2021 to expand Pennsylvania’s electorate, so it reflects the Commonwealth’s demographically changing population. In the next four years, NPP will engage and empower young residents and those living in under-represented communities of color and immigrant communities. We will register them to vote, provide education about the issues that matter in their neighborhoods, and mobilize people to vote in every election.
