After making a fortune on TV misleading his viewers for a living, New Jersey resident Dr. Oz is once again trying to muddy the waters ahead of Pennsylvania’s crucial U.S. Senate election on November 8th.
Dr. Oz wants the decision on abortion to be left to “women, doctors, and local political leaders.” No, seriously. Local political leaders like the right-wing candidate for governor of Pennsylvania who wants abortion banned in all cases, without exceptions for rape or incest. Just what we need when someone is facing such a difficult personal decision over their health and future — a politician with a veto.
To distract from this extreme position and others, Dr. Oz wants you to think that John Fetterman is responsible for crime. While John was mayor of Braddock, a steel town ravaged by gun violence, he helped lead his community through 5 ½ years without a single gun death.
And Dr. Oz wants you to think that our democracy will be safe in his hands in the United States Senate — while the few Congressional Republicans who have taken Trump to task for his election lies will be packing their bags and clearing out their Capitol Hill offices this January.
Do you really think Dr. Oz has the guts to stand up to Trump? Yeah, me neither. But Republicans are pouring money into this race, and Oz just cut himself another $2 million check. John Fetterman needs one last boost to win this race.
