Whether you are in government school or private school (including home school), if you are a high school junior or senior in a county where we have a True Texas Project satellite location, you may enter our new Gold Eagle Essay Contest!
How can we be fiscally responsible if we don't know and understand the history and current state of our nation's economic and monetary policies? Here's your chance to brush up on the subject and WIN!

Here's what you've got to learn and write about:
What is the difference between currency and money?
Who is the Federal Reserve?
Where have the Federal Reserve, bankers, and politicians taken the value of our currency over the last 100+ years?
What backs US currency today?
What is the “Petro Dollar”?
What does the “Petro Dollar” do for the USA, and what are it’s affects on the worlds monetary system?
How does inflation affect the value of our currency?
What are your ideas on how to protect your wealth and assets in today’s world?
How would a digital currency system affect society in today’s world?
What is your personal assessment of the world economic situation today?
What event took place in 1971 that altered the value of our currency?
Put your answers in essay format, and... try not to bore us. ;-) We don't want you to just copy off of Google and turn it in!
To qualify for the competition you must touch on all the questions listed above. Be sure to proof your essay carefully for correct spelling and grammar. Essays will be blind-judged, and winners will be awarded at our December 9th Christmas party. To submit your essay, attach the word document or pdf and email it to [email protected] with the email subject title “Gold Eagle Scholarship” along with the county you live in, your year in school, and the school you attend.
