Friend,
Even for this eternal optimist, current events and the constant stream of vitriol on social media sometimes make it hard to envision an America free of hate, fear, and widening divisions.
Yet I believe that America's best days are still to come.
When I'm here at home in Minnesota, as I am now, I spend my days working shifts at small businesses and nonprofit organizations in our community, touring some of the most innovative companies in the country, visiting with young people in their schools, and listening to the stories of people from all walks of life -- and from all parts of the globe.
These interactions are what sustain me in the most difficult times, because they serve as a constant reminder that there is much more that unites us than divides us -- even now.
If you share my optimism -- or even if you're just looking for signs of hope in challenging times -- I ask that you make an investment in our campaign before the end of the month.

We cannot afford to resign ourselves to a future in which half the country distrusts and dislikes the other half -- or worse. To remain the UNITED States of America, I believe we must all get out of our comfort zones and information bubbles and spend time with those who do not look, eat, pray, or vote as we do in order to recognize our shared humanity and identify common ground.
Without question, there are plenty of examples of self-interested politicians seeking to amass money, power, and influence at any cost -- and solely for personal gain. With them, not much common ground can be found. Yet we should not judge entire swaths of Americans by the lowest common denominators; we should engage with each other in order to better understand one another and identify how we might move forward together.
I am on a mission to restore faith in government and repair our broken politics. In fact, that's what our campaigns have always been about. If you are with me, please make a contribution -- no matter the amount -- and help us finish this campaign strong.
As I have often said, optimism is greater than fear, and anything is possible if you believe that America's best days are still to come. I hope you will join us -- and everyone's invited!
Thank you,
Dean
