John – I am so thrilled to share with you that I have earned the support of the Alliance for Retired Americans (ARA), a non-partisan association of retired trade union members associated with the AFL-CIO.

A graphic featuring white text on a dark blue background and two logos. The top reads “Endorsement Alert!” in large font. There is a quote which reads: “Your positions demonstrate a strong commitment to ensuring that all Americans have the secure retirement they have earned. We welcome your leadership on issues such as strengthening Medicare and Social Security, while protecting the programs from cuts or privatization efforts. Our members support your candidacy because of your belief in affordable health care, including lower drug prices, pension security, and quality long-term care.” On the lower left is David Roth’s campaign logo which says David Roth U.S. Senate with three red stars. On the lower right is the endorsement badge for the Alliance for Retired Americans, which features a red star and a red and white checkmark encircled with a round red border.

This endorsement means so much to me because it’s a recognition of my unwavering support for both protecting our social safety net AND my strong commitment to unions.

Republicans are openly flaunting their plans to dramatically cut Social Security and Medicare, calling these programs “entitlements.”

Well frankly, I agree, they ARE entitlements.

I firmly believe that EVERY American has the right and is entitled to retire in dignity. Our seniors have earned these benefits over a lifetime of hard work, and they deserve to live out their final years with income security and top-quality, affordable healthcare.

My opponent wants to cut Social Security and Medicare, but I won’t stand for it. Help me flip this U.S. Senate seat so we can take one more vote to privatize Social Security off the board and put one more vote to protect these vital programs in its place.

Every time Republicans talk about cutting Social Security, I think about my beautiful grandmother, who just turned 105 this year!

Image of David’s Grandmother smiling contentedly while seated at her piano wearing a white long-sleeve shirt with black flowers and a black shirt underneath.

Since its passage in 1935, Social Security has lifted tens of millions of senior Americans out of poverty. It is unconscionable that ANY elected representative would threaten to strip away the earned benefits of a whole generation.

The only way to stop the GOP’s cruel plot to push millions of retirees into poverty is to take them out of power. Help me flip this U.S. Senate seat on November 8th, and I will fight tirelessly to protect your benefits so you and your loved ones can retire with dignity and security.

Thank you again to the members of ARA for their faith in our grassroots campaign. This endorsement means the world to me.

Let’s win this!

- David

David Roth is a single, gay dad running to flip a U.S. Senate seat in Idaho. His opponent is an extremist “pro-life” Republican who’s been in politics for 37 years. David stepped up to serve the state that has been his home most of his life, where he is now raising his two young sons, because every state is worth fighting for. There has never been an openly gay man elected to the U.S. Senate. Help us make history this year. Pitch in now to flip this seat and send David to D.C.
