White-tailed deer season is upon us!
If wildlife were royalty, the white-tailed deer would be the king of Texas. No other animal generates as much excitement or sits so squarely in the collective imagination as a healthy, mature buck. Its mythos is simple: Sleek, secretive, brawny bucks wear a crown of antlers that permeates a hunter's dreams. The meat's not bad, either.
