In accordance with the provisions of the Wyoming Environmental Quality Act and Chapter 1 of the Solid Waste Rules, Earth Works Solutions has submitted a new permit application for the Gillette Tire Shredding Facility.
This facility provides for the transfer, treatment, and storage of scrap tires which have been generated within 100 miles of Gillette, Wyoming. The 4.89-acre facility is located approximately 1.3 miles north of Gillette on 2506 Little Powder River Road, Gillette WY 82716. More specifically, this facility is located in the SW1⁄4 SW1⁄4 of Section 11 and NW1⁄4 NW1⁄4 of Section 14, T50N, R72W, in Campbell County, Wyoming. The total volumetric capacity of this facility is estimated to be 400 tons of scrap passenger truck tires, 600 tons of scrap semi-truck tires, and 1,200 tons of shredded scrap tires. The life of the facility is estimated to be indefinite.
The Department of Environmental Quality, Solid and Hazardous Waste Division (DEQ) has issued a proposed permit for this facility. Copies of the application and the proposed permit can be viewed at DEQ’s Cheyenne office.
Any interested person has the right to file written comments, including objections on the proposed permit. The period for providing comments on the proposed permit shall begin on October 29th, 2022 and end on December 5th, 2022. Any written comments must be received by 5:00 PM on the last day of the notice period.
