This Week at the NYGOP

Today is the FIRST DAY of Early Voting and that means our chance to bring change to New York begins NOW. The only poll that matters is the one you take when you get to the voting booth. Make a plan, tell your friends and family, and get out to vote. Early voting continues until Sunday, November 6th. Click this link to find your county and its Early Vote locations and times.

As we hit the home stretch in this campaign, we are seeing momentum and energy like never before. Hundreds of voters are turning out at our rallies for a chance to hear Lee Zeldin and our Republican team talk about our efforts to SAVE OUR STATE. Just the other night, I took the stage in Buffalo where more than 600 New Yorkers packed a standing-room-only crowd to show their support--right in Kathy Hochul’s backyard. The message was loud and clear: Kathy Hochul is not fit to be governor. One-Party Democrat rule in Washington and New York has been an utter disaster and on November 8th we are going to take back our country and our state.

The stakes have never been higher. Everything we have been working toward has been building to this moment. Victory is within reach, but only if we work tirelessly from now until the polls close on Election Day. We have to dig deeper than we ever have before. Democrats are not going to go down without a fight, and we need to outwork, outsmart and outraise them.

I know we have asked a lot of you, but it is because of YOU that we have gotten this far. Your donations, your social media posts, and your conversations with friends and neighbors have helped to spread the message that our Republican Party represents common sense change.

Let's keep up that fighting spirit every day for the next 10 days and if we do--I know that a massive RED WAVE will sweep through New York on Election Day.

Peter Ganley was born and raised on Long Island and is a Southold Town resident. Peter has an extensive background in good Government, having worked in the District Office of Congressman Lee Zeldin assisting with both press and constituent services. Peter has spent the majority of his adult life working to elect conservative leaders on Long Island and is an advocate for smarter government on the local, state and federal level. Peter currently serves as Treasurer for the Southold Town Republican Committee.

With rising crime, rampant corruption, and the highest taxes in America, it’s clear New York State is leading in all the wrong categories. We need new leadership in Albany to get back on the right track.

Dems ‘frantic’ over ‘tightening’ NY Governor’s race, Hochul no longer ‘presumed safe': New York Times report

The New York Times reported Thursday that Democrats are "frantic" over reports that the gubernatorial race between Rep. Lee Zeldin, R-N.Y., and Gov. Kathy Hochul, D-N.Y., is tightening. In a piece titled, "As Governor’s Race Tightens, a Frantic Call to Action Among Democrats," the outlet claimed that the party and its allies, including labor unions, have "gone into overdrive" to campaign for and donate to Hochul, who seems to be slipping in her appeal with Black and Latino voters. Meanwhile, Zeldin is drawing closer to Hochul, as recent polling has shown. The Times opened its report, stating, "You don’t need to consult the most recent polls to realize that the race for New York governor between Gov. Kathy Hochul and Representative Lee Zeldin appears to be tightening — just follow the string of Democrats’ calls to action this week."

Kathy Hochul Is No Crime Fighter

What a difference a competitive election makes. For months New York Gov. Kathy Hochul failed to address seriously the crime and disorder that her constituents are seeing in the streets. But now that Lee Zeldin is rising in the polls and giving voters a credible GOP alternative, suddenly Ms. Hochul is jumping out of a phone booth wearing a Superman Halloween costume. Ms. Hochul is now running an ad that says she’s trying to guarantee “a safe walk home at night, a subway ride free of fear.” For the grim reality, read the New York Post, where America’s hardest-working police reporters cover America’s hardest working criminals. “A 62-year-old was punched in the face during an unprovoked attack at a Bronx subway station on Sunday night and tumbled onto the tracks,” the paper reported early in the a.m. Monday. “Luckily there was no train pulling into the station.”

Passionate Zeldin beats robot Hochul in NY governor debate

“I don’t know why that’s so important to you.” With that quote, Kathy Hochul showed exactly why she doesn’t deserve to be elected to a full term as governor. Republican Lee Zeldin had asked why Hochul hadn’t talked about locking up people who commit crimes, referencing the disastrous bail “reforms” that put repeat offenders back on the streets. She claimed people were being put in jail — a lie — then said that quote. Just like her dismissing subway crime as a “sense of fear,” Hochul has no idea what’s at the forefront of New Yorkers’ minds right now: safety and the economy. Of course she doesn’t understand why that’s “important.” Lee Zeldin was the obvious winner of this one-and-only gov-race debate. Hochul basically stuck to the message that’s seen her lose her once-formidable lead: attacking on abortion and Jan. 6, neither of which has a darn to do with what actually worries New York voters.

Another Voice: Hochul no longer shares the values of her hometown supporters

Like her former boss Andrew Cuomo, Kathy Hochul demonstrated her contempt for conservative-minded voters, decreeing, “You are not New Yorkers.” Does this include the many conservative Democrats who have been a part of the political fabric in Western New York for generations, including her former constituency? Hochul has done a 180 from her hardline stance as Erie County clerk and is now handing out $2 billion in pandemic assistance to undocumented immigrants and convicted felons while failing to fully support WNY families and businesses. And after years of soliciting support from gun clubs across our community, she has decided to make those members criminals by passing blatantly unconstitutional restrictions on their rights to carry a firearm for personal protection. Perhaps most troubling is her abandoning our community’s support for public safety and hitching her wagon to pro-criminal policies. Tragedies like the recent murder of a young mother from Cheektowaga are the direct result of Hochul’s support for the soft-on-crime legislative agenda in Albany. It’s time to put an end to Kathy Hochul’s long-con effort to fool this community into thinking she’s still one of us. Our community deserves a governor who shares their values, not their hometown. Western New Yorkers who want a safer, stronger and more affordable state should vote for Lee Zeldin to be our next governor.

Albany County DA questions red flag law

Albany County District Attorney David Soares in a lengthy statement released Tuesday sought to rebut New York officials' claims of success with a law meant to keep guns away from people deemed to be a danger to themselves or others. Soares, a Democrat who has emerged as a vocal critic of recent criminal justice law changes amid a heated debate over public safety this campaign season, called the red flag ineffective against gun violence in the city of Albany amid a rise in shootings this year. "Red Flag Laws cannot be used to stop the many gangland warriors patrolling the streets with ghost guns, stolen guns, and community guns," he said. His statement came a day after Gov. Kathy Hochul and state Attorney General Letitia James at a news conference pointed to an increase in extreme risk protection orders since the law was expanded this year and added funding for James' office to enforce the law.
