In a second, I’m going to ask you to make a grassroots contribution to my campaign for Congress in Illinois’ 17th District. But before I do, I want to explain why it’s so important that we keep our fundraising momentum going strong in these final days before the election.
- Far-right groups are spending big against us. Kevin McCarthy’s super PAC, the Congressional Leadership Fund, has already dumped $5 million into this race, and they’ve only added to that total in the last week. We need to counter their spending in real time in order to get my message to voters.
- This is one of the closest House races in the country. Our recent internal poll shows an extremely narrow 1-point margin, with our team holding a 48%-47% advantage over my opponent Esther King. The bottom line: this race could go either way.
- IL-17 will help determine which party controls the House. If we lose this district, the chances Republicans take over the House go up dramatically. That means their democracy-threatening, anti-choice agenda could be imposed on the American people starting next year.
With all that in mind, I’m now asking you to chip in whatever you can in support of our campaign. We’re being outspent in this extremely close race, and the stakes couldn’t be higher. Contribute $5 or more today.
You’ve helped carry our campaign this far. Over the summer, most pundits were predicting King to win. You helped change that, now it’s critical that we maintain the momentum.
