When Brand New Congress was founded in early 2016, nobody knew who would be sworn in as president the following year. Would it be Hillary Clinton, as many assumed? Would Bernie pull off an upset? Would we have President Cruz, President Rubio, or even President Trump?

At that stage, the race for President was still wide open. But one thing was clear: No matter who sat in the White House, we still had this problem of a Congress stocked with corporate cronies, millionaires, career politicians, and hand-picked party elites.

We knew in 2016 that we needed to elect a Congress that represents working people, and that’s what we set out to do.

In 2018, with help from supporters like you, we ran 31 candidates from 17 states for the U.S. House and Senate. People from all walks of life -- single mothers, teachers, scientists, nurses and a now-famous bartender from the Bronx -- showed exactly what can happen when voters FINALLY have a choice.

Now we’re facing another presidential election, and once again, it’s anyone’s game.

It’s time for an era of new and true representation that reflects the diversity of America. We deserve a Congress filled with those who have lived with the same struggles you and I have faced. A Congress that will hold the President accountable when they're wrong and stand behind them when they're putting people before profits and party.
