Nearly 100% of climate scientists agree that a life threatening emergency is upon us. We're facing potential catastrophe.

I recently celebrated my 82nd birthday, and you know, I've lived a good life.

But I also know that I'm so fortunate to be healthy and living in a decade where we can actually make a difference. Together, we can save our planet and its people for generations to come.

I'm optimistic about that, and I know that Senator Ed Markey is too. We're more hopeful than ever thanks to the young people who are leading our movement in an intergenerational compact.

But there are others who have decided now, in the face of this climate catastrophe, that they want to challenge Senator Markey's progressive leadership.

I believe we cannot afford to lose Senator Markey's important leadership at this critical moment for our planet.
