Dear John,
December the 15th is an unmissable date for your diary, the date when we try to identify alternatives to trophy hunting that deliver for people, wildlife and nature. That is why I am inviting you personally to join me and take part in an important public discussion, to be held at the iconic Royal Geographical Society, in central London.
BOOK YOUR TICKET FOR THIS IMPORTANT DISCUSSION TODAY ( [link removed] )
Our Beyond Trophy Hunting ( [link removed] ) event seeks to explore what a post trophy hunting world could look like, what practical steps are needed to get there, and what challenges we need to overcome. To help us, we are assembling a world-class group of speakers and I am proud to announce our first two expert panellists:
Dr Ralph Chami
One of the world's most innovative and sought-after economic thinkers, Dr Chami is Assistant Director at the International Monetary Fund and Co-Founder of Blue Green World and Rebalance Earth. Currently on sabbatical, he is tackling climate change and biodiversity loss by developing a model to value ‘natural capital’, including the economic value of forest elephants. His work has been featured at TED2022, and in National Geographic and the Financial Times, amongst others.
Her Excellency Prof Judi Wakhungu
A politician, diplomat and Kenya’s first woman pioneer in Geology, Prof Wakhungu is Kenya’s Ambassador to France, the Holy See, Portugal, Serbia and Monaco. She served as Kenya’s Minister of Environment & Natural Resources from 2013 to 2018 and ushered in the country’s ban on single use plastic bags, the 2016 burning of ivory and rhino horn stockpiles, and numerous conservation regulations. Her many awards include Honorary Doctorate of Science from the University of Reading, the Oceans Award, the Elder of the Order of the Golden Heart, and the Clark R. Bavin Award for Wildlife Law Enforcement.
The evening begins at 6pm with a cash bar available. The discussion starts at 7pm and the formal event will finish by around 9pm.
Please book your tickets now ( [link removed] ) and join me and our panel at this landmark event. Born Free will be in touch again soon to announce the additional names of our other globally acclaimed panellists.
This is an event not to be missed, so book your ticket for Beyond Trophy Hunting ( [link removed] ) now.
I really look forward to seeing you there!
