Folks,

My sister’s journey to Congress has been years in the making, and not just in the traditional sense.

Many of you know the story. When Lisa was elected to Congress, she wanted to wear something special to commemorate the history that we all made together. We were all discussing options when our sister Thea came up with an idea.

She had been doing research on our family and found our great-great-great grandfather’s voting card. To a former slave turned sharecropper, that card, with just an X for his name, represented a broken barrier and a renewed sense of hope for the direction of our nation. To Lisa, it represents a continuous reminder of just how far we’ve come and how much farther we must go, and she carries it with her both mentally and physically, in the form of a scarf, as a tribute to his legacy and the people who have entrusted her to serve.

Lisa is ready to continue building a brighter future that we can all be proud of, but she can’t do it alone. This November’s election is our chance to reject extremism and continue our path forward toward a democracy where we are all represented. Will you pitch in $10 now to show support for Lisa and help us win big before our October deadline?

Our nation has transformed so much in the time since my great-great-great grandfather gained the right to vote, but democracy is a continual work in progress. Stagnation is not an option, team. Too many people are depending on our progress for us to give up and allow it all to be reversed.

Whether it’s the continued fight for voting accessibility, the right to bodily autonomy, protections for LGBTQ+ students and teachers, or the race to keep climate change at bay, the lives of our citizens and our country’s future are too great for us to risk on leaders who won’t take action and stand up for their constituents.

This November, we have to make a choice and stand boldly with those ready to continue our push toward a more representative democracy and reject those eager to draw us into the abyss of extremism and backward thinking.

Delaware’s choice is clear, but this task is too big for Lisa alone. So please, before October comes to a close, will you stand with us, and help give our democracy a fighting chance? Please donate $10 or whatever you can to help send Lisa back to Washington and make sure Delaware stays blue.
