Hi friends, it’s Sarah Godlewski.
I want to start by thanking you all for your incredible support of Women Win Wisconsin PAC. We’ve been crisscrossing the state since launching the PAC just over a month ago, I’ve been energized by the support we’ve received from people all over the state and even the country!
Thanks to you, we’ve been able to do so much with your support to mobilize pro-choice voters throughout Wisconsin. In these final two weeks, we’ll continue putting our efforts and resources toward defeating Ron Johnson and electing six incredible Democratic women who are running for the state legislature so that we can save Governor Tony Evers’ veto and stop a Republican supermajority!
Below, you’ll find the latest updates on our work and more photos from the trail.
🚨 NEWS: Our critical mission to mobilize pro-choice Wisconsinites ahead of Election Day has received quite a bit of attention across the state.
✊ SAVE THE VETO: In Wisconsin, we are only one seat in the State Senate and five seats in the State Assembly away from a GOP supermajority. If Republicans gain enough seats to get it, they’ll have enough power to override Governor Evers’ veto and pass any of the 100+ dangerous bills he has blocked into law. We can’t let that happen.
Over the past few weeks, we’ve traveled over a thousand miles across the state to support the candidates our Women Save the Veto project has endorsed. They’re running in six of the most competitive races this cycle — from Superior to the south suburbs of Milwaukee and key communities in between. These races are crucial to saving the governor’s veto power this November, and we’ve done everything from kicking off GOTV events to knocking doors to helping with speeches!
We’ve also hosted fundraisers for these incredible candidates to make sure they have the financial resources to mobilize voters in their districts and win their elections. Earlier this month, we had our first event in Madison, where we had a packed house to meet the candidates and learn more about how to support them.
Then, we hosted a virtual event with special guests U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin and Assembly Minority Leader Greta Neubauer to hear directly from each of the candidates about the importance of their races and this midterm election.
In the past week, we hosted another fundraising event in Milwaukee to make sure these women had the resources necessary to turn out voters in their districts — especially with voting already underway across Wisconsin.
In these final two weeks, we’re going to continue crisscrossing the state to ensure these ladies have the support they need to win. And if you’d like to get involved or learn more about our mission, please reach out to Ashley Franz at [email protected].
I can’t thank you enough for all of your generosity and messages of support. You can check out some of my favorite photos of our time throughout Wisconsin below.
Looking forward to seeing you on the campaign trail! Be sure to keep scrolling for some of my favorite photos from the past few weeks. 👇
