The election is underway here in Texas, and our final end-of-month deadline of the election is Monday, so I want to take a second to reflect on how far we’ve come.
We’ve done so much this year as a team. We’ve introduced Lizzie to a redrawn district where 70% of voters are new, starting with the primary election in March where we knocked on doors and sent mail to many households. We’ve worked hard to get people familiar with Lizzie and her work in Congress. Over the past few months, we’ve knocked on thousands of doors, put an important message from Lizzie on TV and kept it on the air, sent mail to many thousands of households, and built an incredibly strong campaign.
During this time, we’ve also faced big challenges in our state and our country. We’ve witnessed dangerous rollbacks to our freedoms, including Texas’ S.B. 8 going into effect and the overturning of Roe v. Wade .
All of that reinforces the importance of this year’s elections and electing leaders like Lizzie who are fighting for our rights, freedoms, and values — true Texas priorities.
