My sister-in-service, Rep. Cori Bush, has been a critical ally since the first day she stepped foot in Congress. From fighting for utility rights, to Medicare for All, to maintaining and expanding abortion rights, Cori brings her lived experience to Congress.

As a nurse in St. Louis, Cori saw firsthand the stark inequities faced by uninsured and under-insured folks. Every day, people are forced to ration expensive medication like insulin, skip dialysis appointments, forgo surgical procedures, or refuse medical care entirely—and this lack of care falls disproportionately on Black and brown communities.

My team founded the Rooted in Community Leadership PAC to train and support candidates like Cori, who will fight for the needs of working and low-income families. We need this leadership from school boards and city councils all the way to Congress.
