Good afternoon and happy Friday!
It’s been another incredible week in the Lowcountry connecting with so many of you across the district. We’ve enjoyed the chance to connect with you and learn more about the issues which matter to you most as well as give you an update on our hard work in DC.
On Tuesday we hosted Cocktails with Your Congresswoman in Bluffton, SC. Thanks to everyone who came out and joined us. We always appreciate the chance to connect with you in person and in your community.
On the same day, we sent a letter to Secretary Becerra of Health and Human Services requesting oversight into how our tax dollars are spent relating to sex change surgeries on minors. As part of our duty on the Oversight Committee, our office works to ensure your tax dollars are being used responsibly. Taxpayer dollars should never fund sex change surgeries on minor children. Period.
On Thursday, we hosted another meet and greet in Moncks Corner. We enjoyed some great BBQ and conversation and meeting so many of you. Please stay tuned for future events and stay up to date here.
This week we signed on to the protecting hunters and anglers act. This important bill protects the use of traditional ammunition and fishing tackle for the future. We also signed on to a resolution to help keep our elections secure and prevent illegal immigrants from voting in cities like Washington D.C. Voting is one of the most important parts of being an American citizen, and we must be sure those who vote in our elections are American citizens.
Our supply chain is still being crippled by cross-border vaccine mandates at our Canadian border. Our office worked alongside others to send a letter to the President calling for an end to vaccine mandates which harm our critical trucking industry. Many essential commodities are traded across our northern border, and we must ensure our truckers are able to travel across the border freely without unnecessary federal mandates.
Are you living in the Lowcountry with an adorably cute dog? Every weekend, we highlight one District Dog on our social media platforms. Submit your dog here.
As always, if you need us, call us. Whether you need help with a passport, issues with receiving your tax refund or the Veterans Administration, please reach out to our office if you have any questions, concerns, or just want to be heard on any issue at any time.
It’s an immense honor to serve each and every one of you.
Sincerely,
|
