FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
October 27, 2022
PORT ORCHARD ??Kitsap County Elections reminds voters they have three ways to return ballots: by dropbox, by mail or in person.
Ballots our office receives by Monday, Nov. 7, will be included in the results we report by 8:15 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 8. Those arriving on Election Day or?later will be included in later totals beginning Nov. 9 and updated through election certification on Nov. 29.
Dropbox: The county has 25 ballot dropboxes. Voters can use a dropbox to return a ballot up until 8 p.m. sharp on Election Night.
Mail: Ballots must be postmarked by Election Day, Nov. 8, to be counted. We recommend that if you use mail to return your ballot that you do so about a week before Election Day. If you take your ballot to the post office on Election Day or the day before, please ask USPS staff members to hand stamp the date at the counter to ensure your ballot is postmarked on time.
Vote Center: Remember polling places? They never went away completely, but we call them vote centers, because you can go to any one of three to vote in person if you wish. The ballot you receive at a vote center is the same as the one you were mailed. So, if you just want to vote in person and already have a ballot we mailed you, bring it to the vote center and drop it in a ballot box there. Our vote centers will be open 8:30 a.m. ? 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5 and Monday, Nov. 7. On Election Day, Nov. 8, the vote centers are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
To be on time on Election Night, you must be in line for a drop box or in line at a vote center by 8 p.m.
