This past week, I joined the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department to announce the launch of the “Why We Serve” campaign, which will help recruit new law enforcement officers. This wide-ranging campaign is both local and national, with outreach in Indianapolis as well as major cities in neighboring states like Kentucky and Ohio. The hiring of officers remains a key part of our three-year, $150 million anti-violence strategy.

 

I’m working to ensure that Indianapolis has the best officers serving our communities, while reflecting the diversity of our city. That’s why we’re being very affirmative, positive, and outward-facing in this campaign.
