This year on my birthday when I turned 9, I decided I didn’t want any presents and instead I wanted to ask my friends to donate to Sunrise.

John,

My name is Day, I’m 9 years old, and I’m really worried about me and my little sister Camas’s future because of climate change. I’m not sure what the world will look like when I’m a grown up, and whether I’ll have a safe home with food and clean water.

That’s why this year on my birthday when I turned 9, I decided I didn’t want any presents and instead I wanted to ask my friends to donate to Sunrise. Will you give with me to help Sunrise fight for a Green New Deal next year?

Me and my little sister Camas at a climate march.

When I first learned about climate change, I was shocked that adults are letting animals and people all over the world die and not doing anything to stop it.

Now that it’s almost 2020, we only have 10 years left to stop out-of-control climate change. When we get to that point of no return, I’ll only be 19. I basically can’t vote or anything until it’s too late.

So that’s why I’m writing to you: To protect my future, and my little sister Camas’s future, and the lives and homes of kids (and adults!) all over the world who are already being impacted, I’m asking all the people reading this to start a monthly donation of any amount (even just $3 or $5) today.

To fund our plans to win a Green New Deal next year, Sunrise needs to get 6,000 monthly donors by midnight tomorrow. If we reach that goal, a group of generous donors will give us $100,000. We’re almost there, but we still need 1,438 more. Can you be one of them?

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

Chip in $5 a month
Chip in $10 a month
Chip in $25 a month
Chip in $100 a month
Chip in another amount

Thank you!!

Day
