Koch Industries and other giant oil and gas companies are pouring HUGE amounts of money into Republican super PACs trying to take control of the House of Representatives.
A major oil and gas industry journal reports, "If Republicans take the House or Senate majority in next month’s midterm elections, they’ll have the oil and natural gas industry to thank."
Progressive champions in crucial swing districts are in the cross-hairs and need our help.
The trade journal makes clear that if Republicans take control, they will pursue "policies favoring the oil and gas industry, including more leasing on federal land and fewer climate restrictions." They'll also use congressional committees to attack the president’s green agenda.
A look at the numbers shows what Republican control of Congress is worth to these corporations:
- Occidental Petroleum has put in $5 million
- Chevron added $5.75 million
- Koch Industries has bucked up at least $3.5 million
… and those are just a few of the oil and gas companies that have donated millions to Republican super PACs.
The trade journal adds, "None of the companies donated to the Democrats’ equivalent super PACs."
