The treatment is unacceptable. Tell CBP to end it now.
ACLU Supporter, in case it got buried, I wanted to uplift my email below about what migrant families are facing right now in CBP detention facilities – also called 'hieleras' or 'iceboxes' due to their freezing cold temperatures.
I know it's an intense moment for so many of our civil liberties, but if you have a minute, please send a message urging CBP to expedite the release of pregnant, postpartum, and nursing people – and their infant children – from detention now. <[link removed]>

ACLU Supporter –
Families in Customs and Border Protection (CBP) custody are being put in life-threatening situations every single day. In one case, a mother was forced to give birth holding on to a garbage can – and her newborn child spent the first night of life in a freezing cold cell with her.
CBP facilities are notorious for medical neglect and degrading conditions like this. They aren't safe for anyone, let alone pregnant, nursing, and postpartum people. That's why the ACLU and over 130 other organizations are unified in demanding CBP Commissioner Chris Magnus take immediate action to uphold the reproductive rights and health of migrants.
And we'll need the loud resounding support of our community speaking out with us in this fight, ACLU Supporter. So please join us in action by sending a message to the commissioner today – demanding that pregnant, postpartum, and nursing persons and infants be released as soon as possible.

ACLU Supporter, the harm that CBP's egregious treatment of pregnant and postpartum people and their infant children puts on families is unacceptable.
The only way to ensure migrants receive the reproductive care they need – and for their health and their humanity to be upheld – is for CBP to release these individuals to their networks of care as soon as possible. Full stop.
Each day that passes without such a policy places more families at risk. Please, urge CBP Commissioner Magnus to take action now. <[link removed]>
Thanks for being with us in the fight,
Melissa Galeano
