Don't miss the Oct. 29 opener
The excitement is building: Nebraska's pheasant and quail season is almost here. Tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 29, is opening day, so make sure you are ready to go.
Here are a few resources we recommend for a good hunt:
-
Upland Game Bird Hunting Outlook: Learn what to expect in the field, including bird numbers, weather conditions and habitat/access trends, in this handy guide. Check it out online.
-
Public Access Atlas:?With over 1.2 million acres of publicly accessible lands, Nebraska offers an abundance of public, walk-in hunting opportunities for upland game birds. Find them in the Public Access Atlas.
Remember to share your hunt with an aspiring hunter, and submit a photo of your adventure online to enter the?Take' em Hunting challenge. You could take home a John Deere Gator for doing so!
Find additional resources on our website, and get ready for opening day tomorrow.?

Take your shot at the Upland Slam
Give yourself an added challenge this year: Set your sights on the Nebraska Upland Slam.
The concept is simple:?harvest four birds ? a sharp-tailed grouse, greater prairie-chicken, ring-necked pheasant and northern bobwhite quail ? in Nebraska and receive an official certificate, Nebraska Upland Slam pin and epic bragging rights.
Additionally, all hunters who complete the slam during the 2022-2023 season will be registered to win one of several great prizes generously donated by Pheasants Forever/Quail Forever.
Follow the link below to learn more and start planning to complete your Slam today.
