Hey folks.
I think we can all agree that some of the best conversations take place over coffee, especially at friendly local places like the one I’m visiting here, Brewpoint Coffee in Elmhurst.
Back in 2018, I flipped this district blue for the first time in nearly 50 years in part by spending time out in communities and chatting with voters across IL-06, often in coffee shops just like this one.
That campaign taught me one of the most valuable lessons of my career: the big things might divide us, but it’s the little things that bring us together again. You won’t meet many people who’ll say no to a hot tea or coffee on a chilly day.
And if we can find common ground on the small stuff, I know we can figure out a way to build bridges on the big stuff.
After all, the climate crisis, gun violence, abortion access, and healthcare costs affect all of us: Republicans, Democrats, independents, and everything in between.
My right-wing opponent and his financiers prefer a different approach: fanning the flames of hate, spinning made-up “us vs. them” narratives, and riling up a small faction of extremists to scare decent folks away from the political process.
So I’m asking: will you chip in $25 to help me defeat this extreme and divisive rhetoric on Election Day? We’re counting on your grassroots support to help us reach our critical end-of-month goal.
