Our worlds are colliding just before Halloween, John. And it’s every bit as scary as Hank predicted it might be.

Let’s rewind to explain.
  • Hank’s been sounding the alarm about Justice Clarence Thomas’ conflicts of interest when ruling on Trump’s Big Lie and the January 6th insurrection, because of Thomas' wife’s involvement in both.
  • Separately, we at Hank HQ have also been keeping you up to date about the ongoing fight in Georgia to subpoena Sen. Lindsey Graham for his testimony before a grand jury about his role in propping up Trump’s Big Lie.
This week, Justice Thomas gave Lindsey Graham a gift by blocking a lower court order compelling Graham’s testimony — letting Graham off the hook.

Let’s be clear about one thing, John: Clarence Thomas should have NOTHING to do with ANY ruling about Trump’s repeatedly disproven claims that the 2020 election was stolen from him. That’s because his wife, Ginni Thomas, is a close ally of President Trump who we’ve since learned was helping Trump propagate the Big Lie that led to the January 6th insurrection.

But under our current system the Supreme Court sets its own ethical rules, and justices regulate their own recusals.

To right this wrong, Hank introduced the Supreme Court Ethics, Recusal, and Transparency Act to create a code of ethics for Supreme Court justices. The bill would eliminate these clear conflicts of interest and establish standards for recusals.

Every time we think Clarence and Ginni Thomas couldn’t go any lower, they peek their heads up and give our democracy a fright. Will you help Hank keep fighting in Congress to stop Clarence Thomas from continuing to decide cases where he has clear conflicts of interest?

Let’s put this national nightmare to bed.
