2022 was a big year for housing bills, thanks to the YIMBY movement and our coalition partners.

All of our priority bills that made it through policy committees became law. Our scorecard for 2022 helps tell the story of how we succeeded.

In order for a member to receive a perfect score and become a Housing Champion, members need to have a perfect or near perfect vote record on our priority legislation and champion at least one housing bill.

Seventeen Assemblymembers and Senators achieved a perfect score in 2022 and have become Housing Champions.

The results show that many legislators significantly improved their scores compared to last year, demonstrating the growing pro-housing sentiment within the legislature. Many of the most significant improvements were from members in the Los Angeles area.
