John, right now Mike Pence is in Allegheny County, in PA-17, campaigning for my corporate executive opponent, Jeremy Shaffer.
It’s clear that national Republicans are all-in on electing the most radical and out-of-touch candidates they can. They need yes-men in the House to pass Kevin McCarthy’s anti-American agenda that will keep coddling the huge corporations ripping us off, ban abortions, destroy the integrity of our elections, hurt working families, and so much more. And they see Shaffer as just another MAGA-puppet yes-man.
But there’s something even more sinister – Pence is supporting Shaffer just one week after he promised that Congressional Republicans would pass a national abortion ban. Tonight, them standing together sends a message to women and girls across western Pennsylvania that they’ll stop at nothing to take away their rights.

As I’ve shared with you before, the fight to defend our democracy is personal to me. I risked my life for this country, so I know what it means to defend the American values of freedom and democracy. That’s why I won’t sit by and watch Mike Pence, Jeremy Shaffer, and the rest of the radical right strip them away. And I’m hoping you won’t sit by either.
