Follow and Support MDAA   2022 Missile Defense Review   Dear Members and Friends, Today the U.S. Department of Defense released the 2022 National Defense Strategy (NDS). The NDS highlighted the key aspects of missile defense in this year’s Missile Defense Review (MDR) portion of the document. We recognize and commend the principal strategies put forth by the MDR in its recognition of the role of missile defense. “Specifically, missile defenses: add resilience to our overall defense strategy; complicate adversary plans and induce doubt about the success of offsite missile use; raise the threshold for conflict by reducing incentives to conduct small scale, coercive attacks; reassure allies and partners that the United States will not be deterred from fulfilling its global security commitments; and, in crisis or conflict, offer military options that may be less escalatory than employing offensive systems.” - 2022 Missile Defense Review We strongly support, align and advocate enhancing our Pacific posture and strengthening the missile defense of Guam, recognizing that it is a key point of power in the region and should be defended accordingly with a wide range of missile defense capabilities. We strongly support, align and advocate for Cruise Missile Defense of the US Homeland. We strongly support, align and advocate contributing to integrated deterrence by working with allies for an all-around defensive strategy of deterrence by denial framework to all warfighting areas. We strongly support, align and advocate regional and integrated missile defense, and defenses specifically against increasing hypersonic and UAS threats. We strongly support, align and advocate the strengthening of international cooperation with allies and partners throughout North America, Europe, the Indo-Pacific, and the Middle East. We recognize the MDR’s policies and investment into the reliability of the current Ground-based Interceptors (GBI) and note the heavy investment into the upcoming Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) to be deployed in 2028 that remain open-ended in capacity for a future Administration to address and counter against North Korean missile threats to the Homeland.
