ICYMI, Leora Levy Holds Roundtable with Law Enforcement and Community Members on Public Safety

GREENWICH, CT - In case you missed it, Wednesday evening, U.S. Senate candidate Leora Levy gathered with members of law enforcement and the Danbury community for a roundtable to discuss public safety issues exacerbated by Biden, Blumenthal and their out-of-touch party’s agenda. CT State Fraternal Order of Police President, John Krupinsky, Demand Zero non-profit founder Lisa Dean, Retired NYPD Detective Ralph Freidman and a staff member from the Dominican Community Center all contributed to the discussion.

The roundtable focused on how elected officials can provide police with the assistance they need to crack down on crime and combat the deadly flow of fentanyl into our communities, which is a direct result of Joe Biden and Dick Blumenthal’s open border policies.

Watch the full roundtable here.

“I am running to be your next U.S. Senator to make life better, so families feel safe once again. There is a general sense of lawlessness with crime on the rise, and innocent people feeling unsafe in communities across Connecticut. Meanwhile, out-of-touch career politicians, including my opponent, side with the radical element of their party to defund the police and remove law enforcement’s qualified immunity, creating a shortage of cops,” said Levy at the roundtable. “All of these problems are all self-inflicted by Biden’s destructive policies, rubber stamped by Blumenthal.”

Check out the CT Examiner’s coverage from the roundtable:

Asked about challenges for law enforcement by Levy, John Krupinsky … said police are facing a respect issue stemming from demonization by Democrats.

Krupsinky said officers are leaving the field at a rapid rate across municipalities, states and the country. He said there would be no one to answer calls if the country continued to move in the current direction.

Ralph Friedman, a retired NYPD detective, also placed the blame on Democrats.

“We need our judges, we need our courts, politicians and parole board to back the police up in what they do,” Friedman said. “It seems like the far-left politicians and the Democrats are swayed out of line with what’s common sense.”

Lisa Dean, founder of Demand Zero, detailed the loss of her son due to an opioid addiction. She said that the worst part of running a nonprofit was getting governmental support.

Dean said she asked Gov. Ned Lamont to discuss the rise in fentanyl trafficking and asked Blumenthal to sign a resolution classifying illicit fentanyl as a weapon of mass destruction. Dean said she has not received a meeting with either.

About Leora

I am running to take on the far-left whose policies will make our country look more like the Communist Cuba my family and I escaped in 1960 than the United States we have all known and loved. I am running for Senate to lead the fight for freedom. Joe Biden isn't on the ballot in November, but his policies are. The way to beat back Biden is to beat Dick Blumenthal, and I am the political outsider who can get it done.
