John,
I wanted to make sure you saw Jon’s email about Reps. Andy Kim (D-NJ), Lauren Underwood (D-IL), and Dan Kildee (D-MI).
These three Social Security Champions are fighting to protect and expand Social Security and to lower prescription drug costs. We need to make sure they stay in Congress, and aren’t replaced by Republicans who want to cut, privatize, and ultimately destroy our earned benefits.
Split a contribution of $5 today between the Kim, Underwood, and Kildee campaigns to send these Social Security champions back to Congress to fight for us.
Thank you,
Alex Lawson
Social Security Works PAC
John,
This month, I held packed endorsement events with three of my favorite Social Security champions: Reps. Andy Kim (D-NJ), Lauren Underwood (D-IL), and Dan Kildee (D-MI).
Social Security Works PAC endorsed Kim, Underwood, and Kildee due to their strong records of fighting to protect our earned benefits and lower drug prices.
All three are in tough re-election races against Republicans who want to cut, privatize, and ultimately destroy Social Security and Medicare.
We need to make sure our Social Security champions stay in Congress fighting for us! Split a contribution today between Andy Kim, Lauren Underwood, and Dan Kildee to defend against Republican attacks on our earned benefits.
Rep. Andy Kim is a passionate advocate for protecting Social Security and lowering drug prices. According to the Washington Post, Kim “has made lowering seniors’ health-care costs and expanding their access to Medicare a signature issue.”
Kim made Big Pharma so angry that they targeted him with mailers making the absurd claim that giving Medicare the power to negotiate lower drug prices is “cutting Medicare”.
Kim’s Republican opponent, Bob Healey, Jr., is a self-funding multi-millionaire who spent his “career” holding six figure jobs at his father’s yacht company. Healey supports a so-called “balanced budget amendment”, which would make it illegal for Social Security to pay promised benefits.
Rep. Lauren Underwood is a registered nurse, giving her an understanding of health care and patients’ needs that’s sorely needed in Congress. She is a co-sponsor of legislation to protect and expand Social Security, and a leader in the fight to lower drug prices.
Underwood’s Republican opponent, Scott Gryder, has vowed to repeal the Inflation Reduction Act’s provisions giving Medicare the power to negotiate lower drug prices, which he refers to as a “government takeover of prescription drug pricing.”
Rep. Dan Killdee is a longtime champion of protecting and expanding Social Security. This year, his House district became far more competitive due to redistricting.
Kildee’s Republican opponent, Paul Junge, is a trust fund millionaire who proudly campaigned with Kevin McCarthy — the Republican Leader who plans to demand Social Security cuts, with the nation’s economy as a hostage, if Republicans take control of Congress.
We need to make sure Kim, Underwood, and Kildee stay in Congress — instead of being replaced by Republicans who want to destroy our earned benefits!
