Agriculture is a huge driver of North Dakota’s economy, and that means its representative has a duty to protect the interests of the agriculture industry and all the people who work in it.
Kelly takes this duty seriously. That’s why we wanted to give you an update on just two of the ways he’s fighting for North Dakota’s farmers and ranchers.
Here’s how Kelly is fighting for North Dakota ag in Washington:
Fighting a revival of Waters of the US- the Biden Administration has revived WOTUS, which gives the federal government the power to declare almost any river, lake, spring, pond or puddle a “Water of the US,” giving Washington jurisdiction over it. Kelly is working hard to end this burdensome rule and return water authority to states and local governments, where it belongs.
A Farm Bill for Farmers and Ranchers- Kelly knows that we need a farm bill that protects the needs and rights of farmers and ranchers, not the environmental lobby. He will fight to make sure the upcoming farm bill is not loaded with climate regulations that will hurt ag producers and do nothing to help the environment.
