Kermit just sent out an email from his Finance Director saying he’s “about to pay the largest invoice I’ve ever seen in my life.” The email says the money is for “TV advertising.” It appears his pleas to Nancy Pelosi for even more funding have paid off.
This is a last-ditch attempt to overpower all of our hard work with a full-scale smear campaign. It puts us in a precarious position with Election Day 12 days away.
At our current spending levels, Kermit and Pelosi will be able to drown out our message. We urgently need to add Gross Ratings Points to our TV buy, and we have to make the payment tomorrow.
12 days is a lifetime in the thick of a campaign. But in the grand scheme of things, it’s the blink of an eye. After November 8, we have a historic opportunity to
set our country on a new course. The sky is the limit. I cannot wait to get to work for you and shake up DC.
What we don’t want, what we can’t let happen, is for these to be the 12 days when that opportunity slipped through our fingertips. Victory is so close, it is truly within our grasp, and now we just need one last shot of momentum to finish the job.
It appears Pelosi is taking this race personally. Not only is she directing massive funding from her vast network, but Pelosi has personally donated thousands of dollars to Kermit’s campaign.
It makes sense: our victory would end her Speakership. And the last thing she wants is a Congressman from California who will counter her and Newsom’s narrative about the wonderful “progressive” paradise they’ve created here.
She’s seen how fiercely we’ve fought against Newsom, she’s seen the victories we’ve won against all odds, and she doesn’t want our citizens movement anywhere near her fiefdom in DC.
We have many victories to come, but only if we first defeat Kermit on November 8.
Nothing has come easy for us – but nothing worth fighting for ever does. We’ve overcome every obstacle so far, and I’m confident that this desperate attempt to derail us will not succeed.
