I’m heartbroken --

My nephew, Alex, was just 14 years old when he was shot and killed in his classroom in Parkland, Florida, 4 years ago.

He and 16 of his classmates and educators were slaughtered by a 19 year-old with LEGAL access to a weapon of a war.

Let me say that again: The gun used -- which leaves organs liquified on impact -- was completely legal for the teenage gunman to possess in Florida.

And now, yet another community is wracked with this same grief following another mass shooting carried out by yet another 19 year-old with a totally legal, high-capacity assault rifle, this time in St Louis, Missouri.

A 16 year old student was murdered in her school. An educator’s life was stolen in her classroom. And 7 others -- all 15 to 16 years old -- remain wounded.

How many teenage shooters will it take for enough to be enough and for legislators to finally stand up and put a stop to the endless bloodshed caused by 18 and 19 year-old shooters, like in Parkland, Uvalde, and St Louis, who should have never had access to these war machines in the first place?

We need to send every lawmaker in this country a message they can’t ignore: Protect our children -- don’t arm them with assault weapons -- and put an end to school shootings once and for all, or we will make sure you lose your seat in power. So I’m asking 731 supporters to step up and help us rush funds to elect gun safety champions committed to banning assault weapons. Will you pitch in $15 now? >>

I’m FURIOUS.

Haven’t we seen enough bloodshed and carnage?

Haven’t our children and loved ones suffered enough?

The fact is: Republican legislators in Missouri have made it EASIER for high-capacity weapons and assault rifles, like the one the shooter used in St. Louis, to be legally obtained by teenagers in recent years.

And so a 19 year-old with no criminal history walked into a high school with an assault rifle, dozens of magazines carrying 600 rounds each, and announced his intent to kill every person there -- and it was totally legal for him to own the gun and bullets that could have slaughtered hundreds in mere minutes.

When babies come home in body bags, it's time for us to take a stand and replace EVERY Republican legislator who allows such mass shootings to continue tearing apart our communities.

So I’m asking: Are you finally ready to take action?

Every single lawmaker that accepts gun violence as the norm is just as guilty as the criminal that pulls the trigger and MUST be kicked out of office. My organization needs 731 supporters to stand with us in the next 12 hours to make sure we have the resources to defeat every lawmaker who would rather arm teenagers with assault rifles than protect them from preventable gun violence.
