I ran for office as a first-time candidate in a district that was reliably Republican for nearly half a century. I was just a scientist and clean energy businessman -- and few people thought I had a shot when I announced.

Now, I’m a first-term member of Congress with two Republican opponents and one of them has the full and official endorsement of former Rep. Peter Roskam.

I’m no stranger to tough fights. But neither are you.

I’m not running scared and I’m not discouraged. I know that this race isn’t about me -- It’s about the people of Illinois’ 6th Congressional District, the direction of our country, and the future of our planet.
