I’m a proud product of a union household. My mom was a public school teacher and my dad worked third shift on the assembly line. It was their good-paying union jobs that gave me a fair shot at achieving the American Dream.

I hadn’t given much thought to getting involved in politics until I saw Barack Obama’s 2004 DNC speech. It was then that I realized I, too, had the power to change things in my community. And throughout my years as an organizer, state representative, lieutenant governor, and now as the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate, I’ve never stopped fighting to give working people a seat at the table.

But I’ve never done anything alone. It’s thanks to the faith and support that my parents, my community, and grassroots folks just like you have had in me.

Now, I have to ask you to keep your faith. We have a real chance to flip this seat in just 12 days, but we need to keep up our grassroots momentum to send Ron Johnson packing.
