John, Our nation is divided and we're likely headed for more gridlock with the Republicans expected to win the U.S. House majority in the November 8 election, and perhaps even in the U.S. Senate. President Biden was elected based on a promise to reach across the aisle to find common ground with Republicans and that is a promise that he has largely failed to keep so far. Instead, he's pushed an agenda that is far too liberal for most Americans and it has yet again led to more political division. Soon our elected leaders will return to Washington and it'll be up to us to encourage them to put aside partisan politics and find common ground on the big issues that will require compromise to actually get meaningful reforms passed. We've had some wins this year with several bipartisan accomplishments, but we need to keep up our efforts. We have an important October fundraising deadline on Monday and I could use your help. |
