In just a moment, I am going to ask you to make a contribution to my re-election campaign. Even if you do not live in California, please give me a chance to explain why this request is so important.

Election Day is just 12 days away, and we have a lot of work to do in California.

First, we are working hard to pass an amendment to our state constitution that would protect a woman’s right to access an abortion here in California.

And let me remind you, California is not some small, isolated state. We are the richest state in the United States, the most populous and most diverse. We are a state with almost 9 million people of reproductive age.

And I’ll add, when people come for care in California, we’re going to take care of them. Period.

Second, we have a number of close House races this November. We have more congressional districts than any other state and the races here can determine control of Congress.

Finally, with me at the top of the ticket, every vote we turnout is a vote for the abortion amendment and for House Democratic candidates.

So please.
