God calls us to “learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression” (Isaiah 1:17). For more than 45 years, Prison Fellowship has helped Christians follow this calling, and we need friends like you to help us continue this good work.
Today, we’re sharing two ways you can use your voice to join us in seeking justice. If either of the justice issues below are important to you, we invite you to use our quick and easy tool to find your local lawmakers and send them a pre-written letter urging them to take a stand for justice that restores. When you do, you’ll join our growing network of Justice Advocates!
End the Disparity
Did you know that crack and powder cocaine are nearly identical chemically? Yet punishments for crack cocaine are much more severe—a disparity that overfills our prisons, disproportionately harms communities of color, and fails to improve the safety of our communities.
The disparity between crack and powder cocaine is just one of many justice issues impacting our communities. Here’s another issue where your voice can make a difference:
Every day, police officers respond to emergencies involving significant mental and behavioral health challenges. Yet many officers do not receive enough training to effectively handle these situations, potentially putting everyone’s safety at risk.
Send a letter to your lawmakers asking them to pass the Law Enforcement De-escalation Training Act to equip police officers to serve vulnerable populations better and keep our communities safe.
