A couple of weeks ago, I was in the Philippines, visiting our Love146 safe homes for children recovering from trafficking. When I close my eyes I can still see the faces of these children and can hear their laughter. Yes… laughter. These are children who are taking back their childhoods with a determination that I can only describe as fierce.

These kids fight. They fight for a future. They fight for their rights. They fight for justice. They fight for their lives. What we do as Love146 – and what you do as friends and supporters – is give them a fighting chance.

Yes, we have punching bags for therapy. (And let’s just say that I’m glad I’m not one of those punching bags.)

I know that as well as being very busy, this season is also a time that many of you are looking at making charitable contributions. As a nonprofit, it’s a significant time of year, and I often feel like I spend the last few days of every year holding my breath. After 17 years, I’m still not used to this!
