Dear ,

We are deeply concerned about the future of our democracy, and we know we’re not alone. As we enter the 2020 election cycle, we want to thank you for continuing to stand strong with the Southern Poverty Law Center in our shared values of justice and equality.

Will you support our work in 2020 and beyond by contributing before midnight tomorrow? Every dollar you send will be matched with another and immediately put to work on our most urgent campaigns for the coming year. <[link removed]>

With your help, we’re continuing our mission of fighting hate, seeking justice, and teaching tolerance to our next generation of leaders — it’s work that is vitally important during this turbulent time in our nation.

In the last three years, we’ve borne witness to destructive policies and practices — at federal and state levels — that target communities of color and others who have historically faced opposition to their fundamental rights.

Some of us have experienced racial hatred personally. Some have only known that shock of pain through our compassion for others. But we’ve all mourned together the innocent lives lost in the last few months to racist and antisemitic violence at the hands of radicalized white supremacists.

And, we’ve steadied our collective nerve against the ignorance and indifference of a commander in chief whose words and actions encouraged xenophobia and division.

We are committing to working for real change in 2020 — by expanding the vote; by developing innovative litigation on behalf of people targeted by discrimination and injustice; and by creating timely education resources that fight prejudice and promote equality.

Let us work even harder to protect voting rights. Let us dig deeper to fight for criminal justice reform. Let us come together with renewed resolve in support of the people we serve every day at the SPLC.

Join us by making a special year-end contribution that will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $ 1 million before midnight tomorrow! <[link removed]>

Sincerely,

Your friends at the SPLC
