We had a very good time in Chelsea. Lot of friendly people, lots of friendly conversations, and LOTS of enthusiasm for reelecting President Trump. Many thanks to all who helped make the week such a success, including John Taylor, Bill Gordon, Tina Gordon, Susan Leslie, Tom Urich, Tracey Melody, Maxine Santoro, David Frey, Debra Fuqua Frey, Dan Lugauer, Jeff Reynhout, Teresa Reynhout, John Dunlap, Cindy Fischaber, Gary Greiner, the Rich Anderson family, and all of the rest of you who stopped by and visited with us.

The picture posted on our website shows a "pavement chalk artist" creating an an image on Middle Street. It turns out that the artist is Erika Turkin, and she came all the way from Buffalo, New York for a chance to participate in the Chelsea event. Below is a photograph of her finished work, which is a drawing of Pogo, the "Advanced Chimpanzee Butler" in the Netflix series The Umbrella Academy. There were five or six pavement chalk artists at the Chelsea event, and they each created something amazing.

The pride and community spirit that small town events like Chelsea's Sounds and Sights festival generate seem like an important part of what we sometimes call the American Dream, and the people we met sure seemed to be having a very good time taking part.
