The election is one moment in a long path towards transformative change. It is a part of a broader practice that, like the seasons, understands that sometimes the energy is budding and accelerating and other times it is fallow and restorative.
But this electoral season that we are in right now is one that demands our attention and engagement. What we can count on is more fear mongering, voter intimidation and disinformation from the right. Republicans have spent hundreds of millions of dollars in the last month alone trying to scare voters and blame Dems. But it’s not over yet. A lot of key races are neck and neck with many potential and undecided voters still out there. It’s OUR job to go get them.
This November, we decide. [ [link removed] ] But that means showing up and doing our part. Voting is not just about you going to the polls and getting a sticker. It is checking in on our people, having courageous conversations about what’s at stake, and getting everyone to the polls. Because our democracy (and wellbeing) is only possible with the realization of all its parts.
Voting is a collective practice of affirming what we value, protecting each other and putting forth the vision and policies for the future that we all deserve.

Fear-mongering around the myth [ [link removed] ] of voter fraud is a deliberate [ [link removed] ] tactic [ [link removed] ] at the local [ [link removed] ], state [ [link removed] ], and federal [ [link removed] ] level, and mass incarceration is central to that strategy. We don’t know how the election will turn out, but we know what we need to do: get out our votes, protect our wins, assess our situation, and pull together for 2024. Two Weeks to High-Stakes Midterms, Two Years to 2024 [ [link removed] ]. [click to tweet] [ [link removed] ]
Democracy requires showing up. It is building the muscle and agility to have courageous conversations, inspire others to get engaged and play our part in building the future that we all deserve. Here’s some helpful ways to get election-ready:
Help your friends plan their vote. Make sure folks are registered, have a plan [ [link removed] ] (ie: early voting, absentee, election day) and know their polling station [ [link removed] ].
Know the facts. [ [link removed] ] So much is at stake in this election and with rampant disinformation, getting informed about the economy, reproductive rights, community safety, sensible immigration and healthcare is essential to having generative conversations and inspiring people to votewell.
Protect the vote. With so much at stake (and blatant voter suppression), it’s essential that we protect our right to vote. Join the front line with Election Defenders. [ [link removed] ]
Vote Together. You don’t have to go it alone. Ballot parties are an effective (and fun!) way to gather your friends, discuss what’s at stake, fill out your ballot together and turn out the vote. Here’s the guide. [ [link removed] ]
Voting is collective care. So we created a community-based approach to voting that affirms the dignity and wellbeing of the whole, not just some. Local elections have the greatest impact on our lives; and yet 30% of people don’t vote down ballot. Ballot parties invite us to gather with our community to get informed about what’s at stake in our local elections, have mindful debate about issues and candidates and complete our ballots so that we can turn them in and turn out the vote. Download the guide and gather your friends! [ [link removed] ]
Love is voting.
