With so much at stake this election year, it's never been more important that Pennsylvania voters know their rights when headed to the polls. With so much national attention on the election here in the commonwealth, ACLU-PA is here to cut through the noise and provide you with what you need to know about voting. A few things to remember:

* Time is running out to apply to vote by mail! The deadline to apply is Tuesday, November 1. Your ballot must be received by your county election office no later than 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 8 (Election Day). Don't wait. Apply now* <[link removed]> and return your ballot as soon as you can at your county's election office, dropbox, or through the U.S. Mail.

* Make sure you sign and date the voter declaration on the outer envelope if you're using a mail-in ballot.

* You may have heard about "naked ballots." You must place your mail or absentee ballot into the secrecy envelope that comes with it, or your vote will not be counted.

* If you're planning to vote in person, make sure to double-check your registration status* <[link removed]> and look up your polling place.* <[link removed]>

* Keep the nonpartisan election protection hotline handy. If you have any questions about voting, see misinformation about the voting process, or want to report a problem, call 866-OUR-VOTE (866-687-8683). Trained nonpartisan volunteers can help you.

This election, we must vote for our values and fight for our rights. Your vote is your power. Let's protect that power by ensuring that every voter knows their rights and exercises their franchise.
