Debates Reveal Exactly Why Democrats Should Not Be in Leadership
GOP: Democrats are saying loud and clear they don’t care about you or your problems. Just take a look at last night’s debates. Kathy Hochul wondered aloud why it is “important” to talk about crime. Gretchen Whitmer laughed as she lied about how long kids were kept out of school in Michigan, falsely saying it was only “for 3 months.” John Fetterman outright lied about his support for socialized medicine and wanting to ban fracking – which would kill hundreds of thousands of Pennsylvania jobs ( GOP). RNC Research: Democrat Gretchen Whitmer, with a smile, says Michigan kids were only out of school “for three months” ( Twitter). Mike Gallagher: It is a dumpster fire. The Democrats are in big trouble. They know it. We know it. The media knows it. Republicans are surging. Americans have had it with awful candidates, and they are awful everywhere ( Daybreak Daily).

Justice Alito: Dobbs Leak Makes Conservative Judges “targets for assassination”
National Review: Justice Alito warned Tuesday that the leak of the Supreme Court opinion that overturned Roe v. Wade endangered his life and the lives of his conservative colleagues on the bench. The unauthorized release of the opinion made the conservative justices “targets for assassination,” Alito said during an event at The Heritage Foundation… In the immediate aftermath of the Dobbs leak, multiple pro-abortion activist groups held protests in front of the conservative justices’ homes in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia for weeks, sometimes resorting to intimidation tactics ( National Review). Washington Examiner: The major media largely ignored the horrifying story here: After the leak but before the decision, a left-wing man traveled from California to the Washington, D.C., area with the stated intention of assassinating Supreme Court justices in order to try and prevent Dobbs and thus save Roe. Left-wing extremist Nicholas John Roske wrote his intentions online: “im gonna stop roe v wade from being overturned” ( Washington Examiner).

Governor Hochul Dodging Reporters After Debating Lee Zeldin
New York Post: Gov. Kathy Hochul used the old “bait and switch” to avoid post-debate questions from the city’s press corps on Wednesday — luring reporters away from a campaign event in Brooklyn and then ducking out a back door. The sneaky strategy unfolded just hours after Hochul’s first and only face-off with Republican challenger Lee Zeldin, during which the incumbent Democrat stunningly said she couldn’t understand why it’s “so important” to lock up criminals ( New York Post). City Journal: Lacking much in the way of charisma or retail political skills, governing a state in slow-motion fiscal collapse with spiraling crime and public disorder, Hochul appears on the verge of a historic defeat, with tightening polls showing only a few points separating her from her Republican opponent, Congressman Lee Zeldin. New York’s “blue state model”—a thick social-services infrastructure, funded by high taxes and empowered by a highly politicized public-sector union complex—appears in danger of rejection by an electorate asking if all that expensive government is really worth the price ( City Journal). Early voting in New York begins Saturday.

Democrats Split on John Fetterman After Watching Debate Performance
NBC: After getting their first long look at John Fetterman in Tuesday night’s Pennsylvania Senate debate, fellow Democrats are second-guessing his decision to appear on stage five months after a stroke — and some question whether he should have remained on the ballot at all. “He should not have debated. Anyone on his team who agreed to a debate should be fired, or never work again, because that debate may have tanked his campaign,” said Chris Kofinis, a veteran Democratic campaign strategist ( NBC). Washington Free Beacon: Sunny Hostin: “It takes real bravery to allow people to see your weakness, right? And we know that Fetterman’s cognitive abilities have not been compromised” ( Twitter). National Review: Even Scarborough, who acknowledged Fetterman’s problems last night, regressed to the mean of his network and returned to acting as a surrogate for the Pennsylvania Democrat on his show this morning, twisting Oz’s words to imply that the Republican was suggesting that “the Parks and Recreation people” in local government make decisions on abortion law ( National Review). Ben Shapiro: According to the media, John Fetterman is perfectly fine. Okay, maybe he’s not fine, but you’re ableist for noticing ( Twitter).

Mexico-Born Republican Rep. Mayra Flores Application to Congressional Hispanic Caucus Denied
Julio Rosas: Townhall has exclusively learned Rep. Mayra Flores (R-TX) was prevented from joining the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC), the leading caucus for Latino members of Congress, because she is a Republican and membership is only reserved for Democrats. Flores requested to join CHC in early October and was rejected shortly thereafter. Flores is not only first Mexican-born woman to serve in Congress, but she also represents a district along the U.S.-Mexico border that is overwhelmingly Latino ( Townhall). Washington Examiner: She is the first Mexican-born woman to be elected to Congress and the first Republican to win Texas’s 34th Congressional District in more than a century ( Washington Examiner).

Republican Kari Lake Takes 11 Point Lead Over Katie Hobbs in Arizona Gubernatorial Race
Fox 10: With less than 2 weeks to go before the November election, Republican Kari Lake leads Democrat Katie Hobbs by 11 percentage points. Only about 2% of voters are undecided. Pollster Matt Towery believes that Hobbs’ reluctance to debate Lake may be a reason why the gap has widened in recent weeks. Lake is polling higher among older adults and Hispanics ( Fox 10).

Saudi Arabia Issues Warning to Biden to Not Drain Strategic Petroleum Reserve
Townhall: Saudi Arabia is warning that President Joe Biden’s politically motivated draining of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve could cause serious problems for the United States in the near future. Last week President Biden announced yet another 11 million barrel release from the SPR, falsely claiming the move will lower gas prices for American families at the pump. The SPR is now at its lowest level since 1984 with just 17 days worth of supply left. The White House has been vague about when the Biden administration plans to refill the reserve after Democrats rejected a 2020 proposal from President Donald Trump to fill the SPR at $20 per barrel ( Townhall). Reuters: Saudi Arabia’s energy minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman said some countries were using their emergency oil stocks to manipulate markets when their purpose should be to mitigate any shortages of supply ( Twitter). Joel Griffith: Biden drained our Strategic Petroleum Reserve to the lowest levels since 1984. Rather than stop the war on energy– specifically pipelines, refineries, drilling, & exploration–he risks our national security in a gamble to temporarily lower prices in time for Election Day ( Twitter).

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot Proposes to Give Herself an Inflation Pay Raise
Fox News: Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot on Wednesday proposed an ordinance giving the office of the mayor an annual inflation raise capped at 5%. Lightfoot currently takes in an annual salary of $209,915, a sum that would rise to $216,210 as of May 22, 2023, according to the ordinance. The proposal would allow the mayor’s salary to increase up to 5% each year, with a stipulation that the mayor could opt out of the raise. |
Mike Gallagher: You know what I’m starting to hear from listeners all over America that as bad as things are going for the Democrats right now, if they win in 13 days, it won’t be legit. I mean, I hate to even put that out there, but that’s already what people are saying.
It is a dumpster...
