[[link removed]]As 2019 runs to a close John, it’s hard not to be
concerned about how close we are to losing so many protections for rivers.
President Trump and his administration are proposing major rollbacks that would
upend decades of progress toward protecting water quality, wetlands, and
endangered species.

Our supporters have identified these rollbacks as the #1 threat to rivers this
year, and I have to agree. Without these key river protections, too much of the
decision-making process will be in the hands of polluters, without the
requirements for external review that currently exist.

Join us in fighting rollbacks to river protections!

I want you to know that American Rivers is not standing still while the Trump
administration attacks core safeguards for our rivers and clean water:

* Fighting back in court: We’re challenging the EPA’s rollback of the Clean Water Rule that safeguards
drinking water sources for millions of Americans.

* Mobilizing supporters: We’ve taken the names of more than 3,600 supporters to Capitol Hill to push
back on the EPA’s proposed rule that would limit the authority under the
Clean Water Act of states and tribes to affect federal dam, pipeline and
other infrastructure construction.

* Standing up for endangered wildlife: We’re working with partners to defend the Endangered Species Act -- and
protect the fish and other river wildlife that depend on this critical safety
net.

Support us today to help fight the Trump Administration’s attacks on rivers.
