A year ago, our district lines were finalized and I asked you to join me on this journey to win one of the most competitive districts in the entire country. We promised to do this the right way by talking about the issues that matter and not taking a single dime of corporate PAC money.
After a year of traveling the district and listening to voters, hiring our amazing team of organizers including a Latino Constituency Director, opening our campaign office and launching our TV ads, putting up yard signs (and replacing the vandalized ones), and responding to endless GOP attack ads… it has all come down to this.
There are less than 12 days until November 8th, the final day of voting. Over these next 12 days tens of thousands of voters will make their decision and mail back their ballots. We have to treat every single day as Election Day.

Now let me explain the most recent developments in our race:
First, we were on a high after I received the endorsement of The Modesto Bee, and scored a decisive win in the debate against my opponent last week.
But then, almost as soon as we could get the word out, Republicans launched a brand new wave of attacks calling me “a liar.” The ad is everywhere - TV, mail, online. Everywhere voters look, they see negative smears against me.
And here’s the problem… we’re coming down to the wire and running out of budget to fight back. We need to raise $50,000 as quickly as possible to launch a new round of ads and support an influx of volunteers in the last weeks of this campaign.
