John – This week’s bombshell announcement from Attorney General Merrick Garland should concern EVERY American.

The DOJ just announced charges against several espionage operatives from the Chinese Communist Party who sought to obstruct a criminal investigation into CCP-owned corporations stealing intellectual property from American businesses.

It’s alarming to me to learn the lengths to which the Chinese government will go to protect their own billionaire class while deliberately undercutting American companies and American workers.

Even more alarming? The fact that my opponent, Republican Senator Mike Crapo, is pushing for LIFTING existing trade regulations on China, a move that will directly financially benefit many of his biggest donors.

Mike Crapo has taken tens of thousands of dollars from BlackRock, a multinational real estate investment broker that has deep business ties with the Chinese Communist Party and their many private enterprises.

In fact, MANY of Crapo’s biggest donors have extensive business dealings with the Chinese government, including UnitedHealth Group, Blackstone, Energy Transfer LP, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, and more.

It’s shocking that a sitting United States Senator would fight for looser trade regulations with a foreign government actively being investigated by the Department of Justice for espionage activities.

Idaho deserves a senator that will look out for American workers and promote fair trade deals that protect American technology from theft and exploitation.

As your next Senator, I will always center the needs of the working families of Idaho – and all of America. I refuse to take a dime from corporate PACs because I will not allow their influence to impact my service to the great people of our state.
